Nagoya

The 57 meter long, 617 dwt cargo vessel Nagoya sank in the Java Sea off Sumenep, East Java, Indonesia. The Nagoya was en route to Lamongan in ballast when it sprung a leak in the engine room. The crew was unable to stop the flooding and the cargo vessel began sinking by the stern. All 14 crew were able to abandon ship into the vessel’s life raft. The crew were later rescued by local fisherman. No reports of injuries. Reports state the Nagoya finally sunk by the stern and rests in shallow waters. No further details reported.
