Zehdenick

The 110 meter long tanker Zehdenick allided with a bridge on the Moselle River at Schweich, Germany.  The Zehdenick suffered damage with its wheelhouse torn-off and push astern.  A car stored behind the wheelhouse was pushed off the tanker into the water.  The car was later found in 6 meters of water.  No reports of injuries or pollution being released.  The Zehdenick was in ballast heading towards the Rhine at the time of the incident.  Reports state the water level was high and there were strong winds which may have led to the allision.  The bridge was closed until it was inspected.

Piz Terri

Piz Terri

The 110 meter long, 2685 dwt tanker-barge Piz Terri allided with the Moselle bridge at Schweich, Germany.   The tanker suffered damage to its hull while the the bridge only sustained marginal damage.   The bridge was inspected and traffic was allowed the next day.  No reports of injuries or pollution being released.  The water police allowed the Piz Terri to continue on its voyage after the incident.
