The 152 meter long, 13031 dwt container ship Heinrich Schepers allided with a wall on the Scheldt just outside the entrance to Deurganckdok, Belgium. The Heinrich Schepers had suffered a mechanical fault and swung into the metal deflection wall resulting in a 2 meter hull breach above the waterline. No reports of injuries. Authorities report damage to the wall was minimal and has launched an investigation into the incident.

On November 8, the 229 meter long, 79467 dwt bulk carrier Grand Amanda ran aground on the Scheldt near Terneuzen, Netherlands. The Grand Amanda was approaching Terneuzen when it suffered a power blackout and drifted onto a sandbank. A few hours later, the bulk carrier was later refloated aided by 8 tugs and taken to a nearby anchorage.  No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.

The 85 meter long self-propelled barge Arizona went aground on the Easter Scheldt during low tide near Vlije, Netherlands.  The Hansweert KNRM lifeboat spotted the Arizona aground and arrived on the scene to monitor the situation.  The Arizona was able to refloat herself on the rising tide.  No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.
