The 166 meter long bulk freighter Rickmers Dubai reported colliding with another vessel off Dungeness, England.  The bulk carrier had struck another vessel during the night and contacted the Dover Coastguard of the incident. The other vessels involved was the 113 gt tug Kingston which was towing the barge Walcon Wizard.  The RNLI launched lifeboats to the scene finding all three vessels in stable condition.  Luckily, the Rickmers Dubai had passed between the tug and barge causing minimal damage to the tug and barge.  The barge crew dropped its anchor and waited until it could be towed to Dover harbour later the same day.  There were no injuries on any vessel involved.  The Kingston was able to proceed under its own power back to port.   The Rickmers Dubai anchored off Newhaven while authorities investigated the incident. No reports of pollution released.

The 245 meter long, 43288 dwt container ship MSC Brianna allided into the wharves at Kingston, Jamaica.  The container ship suffered no damage, but the wharves suffered some damage.   No reports of injuries or pollution being released.

The 32 meter long tug Patrick McAllister caught fire while on Lake Ontario near Kingston, Ontario.  The tug was en route from Toledo when a fire broke out in the engine room and quickly spread to other sections.  The six crew on board were able to extinguish the blaze using the vessel’s fire suppression system.  One crewman suffered severe burns and required medical attention.  He was airlifted by helicopter and taken to hospital in Toronto.  Other crew who had suffered minor injuries were transferred to a Canadian Coast Guard to Kingston.  No reports of pollution being released.  The Patrick McAllister was taken under tow by a salvage tug and proceeded to Clayton, New York.
