Da Zhi

On May 18, the 180 meter long, 29496 dwt cargo vessel Da Zhi allided with the quay at Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. The Da Zhi was maneuvering to berth at the quay when it struck a gantry crane. The crane fell backwards and collapsed onto several containers.  No reports of injuries, but the crane and several containers were significantly damaged. No reports of pollution released.

The 109 meter long, 7298 dwt tanker Chemical Progress became disabled off Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.   The tanker had suffered engine failure requiring the vessel to drop anchor.   No reports of injuries, damage or pollution being released.
