Auguste Schulte

The 210 meter long, 34622 dwt container ship Auguste Schulte went aground on a reef near Male, Maldives.   The Auguste Schulte had arrived from Sri Lanka and was setting course to enter the harbour when it struck the reef.   No reports of injuries or pollution released.  Several tugs were able to refloat the Auguste Schulte a few hours later.  Reports state the vessel had attempted to enter the harbor before the pilot was on board.

The 106 meter long, 6471 dwt freighter Agnes went aground in the Lombok Strait near West Lombok, Indonesia.   The Agnes had departed Pelabuhan Lembar in ballast en route to Singapore when it ran aground.   No reports of injuries to the 20 crew on board.    Authorities plan to refloat the vessel on the next high tide.   Reports state there was bad weather and rough seas at the time of the grounding.

Ljubica M

The 324 gt fishing vessel Ljubica M caught fire and sank near Isabela Island, Galapagos Islands.   The fishing vessel sent out a distress call.  The fishing vessel Robert A was nearby and came to the rescue.   All 20 crew from the Ljubica M were rescued.   Reports state the Robert A proceeded to take the crew to Manta, Ecuador.  No other details reported.
