Tsunami: Chinasteel Integrity

The 175,775 dwt freighter Chinasteel Integrity went aground after hit by the tsunami wave while achored off the port of Kashima, Ibaraki, Japan. The Chinasteel Integrity was loaded with a cargo of iron ore. All 25 crewmen on board the vessel were reported safe.

The fishing vessel Genei Maru No. 88 went ashore after the tsunami struck the port of  Hachinohe, Japan.

Tsunami: Yahata Maru No. 35

Reports state that the fishing vessel 634 GT 420 GRT Yahata Maru No. 35 was in Kesennuma, Japan when the tsunami struck.  Seventeen crewmen were known to have survived and have left Japan for Indonesia on March 20, 2011.  No reports on where the vessel is located now.

Reports state that the 221 dwt fishing vessel Kinei Maru No. 31 was in Kesennuma, Japan when the tsunami struck.  Eight crewmen were known to have survived and have left Japan for Indonesia on March 20, 2011.  No reports on where the vessel is located now.
