The 23 meter long fishing vessel L’Ar Voaleden struck bottom at Basse-Vieille near Cape Chèvre, France. The trawler had run onto the rocks resulting in significant hull damage including its fuel tank holed. Reports state some diesel fuel was released into the sea, but fortunately the tank was nearly empty at the time of the grounding. The L’Ar Voaleden was able to proceed to the nearby port of Rosmeur where it unloaded its catch before it was pulled out of the water for repairs. No reports of injuries, but a small amount pollution had been released. Reports state the oil was contained using absorbent pads.

The 20 meter long fishing vessel Langeland 1 became disabled in the Kiel Bight near Möltenort, Germany. The Langeland 1 was proceeding with 25 persons on board when it suffered engine damage. As conditions were worsening with increased strong winds, the adrift Langeland 1 requested assistance. The DGzRS lifeboat was dispatched and reached the scene a short time later. The lifeboat crew was able to get a towline connected to the Langeland 1 and proceeded to tow the disabled vessel to Möltenort. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.
