The 129 meter long ro-ro passenger ferry KM Mutiara Persada 1 ran aground in the Sunda Strait off Bakauheni, Indonesia. The ferry had run onto a reef a short time after leaving the port of Bakauheni was headed to Merak. No reports of injuries. All the passengers were kept on board the night until conditions improved the following morning when they were safely evacuated. Reports state the vessel had not suffered water ingress.

The vessel LCT Batiwakkal Berau and tanker Soechi Chemical Permai I Jakarta washed ashore off Peacock Beach Hotel beach. A third vessel ship ran aground around the beach Hotel Pelangi. A tug was unable to refloat the vessels. No reports of injuries.
