The 81 meter long, 2325 dwt cargo ship Vestvind ran aground near Bjorøy, Norway. The vessel notified authorities it was aground with no injuries to the seven crew.  The NSSR dispatched a lifeboat to the scene. The lifeboat Kristian G. Jebsen attempted to pull the Vestvind free, but failed. Next, the Coastguard vessel Tor arrived and its first attempt to refloat the Vestvind also failed. However, a few hours later, the Tor was able to free the Vestvind.  No reports of damage or pollution released. Divers were requested to inspect the hull.
