RN Murmansk

RN Murmansk

The 176 meter long, 27000 dwt chemical tanker RN Murmansk went aground in the Mudyug Canal in Arkhangelsk, Russia.  Attempts to refloat the tanker by tugs and icebreakers failed due to the low water level.  The tanker was refloated the next day at high tide.  No reports of injuries, damage or pollution being released.  The RN Murmansk proceeded to sail for Amsterdam with 24,162 metric tons of oil.
