Passengers Assist With Docking

The 27 meter long, 288 gt high speed ferry Tidebaronessen suffered steering gear failure on the Oslo Fjord.  The ferry had left Aker Brygge with passengers bound for Son.   However, the Tidebaronessen changed direction and headed for Nesoddtanngen due to the steering failure.  As the ferry was to dock, the crew announced that the vessel was not able to berth.    Passengers  were told that the vessel could not berth and that if any passengers could assist with docking.   After 15 minutes and the aid of several passenger,  the ferry was able to berth.   No reports of injury.
