Ferry Aground at Blacks Harbour

The ferry Grand Maran V went aground at Blacks Harbour, New Brunswick.   The ferry loaded with 100 passengers struck a rocky ledge near the wharf.   Passengers reported the vessel made a loud noise and listed to the starboard side.  The nearby fishing vessel Atlantic Bay arrived on scene to help rescue passengers.  Some of passengers were evacuated using the lifeboats from the ferry.   No reports of injuries.   The Grand Manan V has proceeded to dry dock to be inspected for damage.   The accident is being investigated.

Zangan-3 Aground

Zangan-3 Aground

The 114 meter long, 3353 dwt freighter Zangan-3 went aground on the Kama River at the 2114 kilometer mark.  The vessel was unable to refloat itself and tugs have been requested for assistance.  No reports of damage or pollution being released.  The Zangan-3 was heading for Astrakhan from Solikamsk with a cargo of 4250 metric tons of lumber.

The 4858 dwt boxship Zeya was reported disabled off the Moryak-Rybolob harbour, Russia (43 15.0N 134 45.0E) due to a fuel pipe rupture.   The vessel was able to repair the pipe and proceeded on schedule the same day.
