Unmanned Vessel Goes Ashore

A 52-foot pleasure craft crossed Sarasota Bay, Florida and crashed ashore with no one aboard.    The owner had the vessel on autopilot when he got fell overboard.    The owner stated that he had kicked a dive ball on the deck to get it out of the way, but the dive ball went overboard dragging him with it.   Luckily, he was able to swim ashore and was uninjured.

Arsenyev Disabled

The 97 meter long, 3086 dwt tanker Arsenyev was reported disabled in the Kuril Strait.   The tanker’s main engine had failed and the crew was unable to fix it.  The salvage tug Spravedivyi has been sent to take the Arsenyev under tow.   No reports of injuries or pollution being released.

Queen Arrow II

The 10,640 dwt cement carrier Queen Arrow II ran aground off Crete.   The vessel was later freed with the assistance of a tug and continued to Iraklion.  No reports of injuries or pollution being released.
